Welcome to the Governors’ section of our website where you can find out about our school’s governors and the work of the Governing Body.
The Governors of Kingfield Primary and Nursery School are dedicated to the achievement of pupils through creative and inclusive teaching. We are ambitious for the school and are focussed on continuous improvement in all areas of the school. The Governing Body has a legal responsibility for the overall management of the school and governors are actively involved in school life in many ways .Governors set the school’s vision and strategic aims, monitor and evaluate performance and ensure the school is accountable to those it serves.
In November 2014 the Governing Body was reconstituted. The total number of Governors is 12, which is made up of Local Authority (1), Parent (2), Staff (1), Co-opted (7), Head teacher (1)
Governors are appointed for a term of 4 years, they are:

In order that matters concerning finance, staffing, pupil welfare, building maintenance, health and safety and monitoring of developments in the teaching curriculum are addressed, the Governing Body divides the work into the following subcommittees: Finance and Staffing and Children and Learning. There is a Premises Working Group to oversee the buildings and matters of health and safety.
The Full Governing Body meets three times a year and the subcommittees at least once each term.
There were no pecuniary interests declared in the academic year 2015-16.
