Kingfield Primary School

'Be the best you can be'

Junior Leadership Team

At Kingfield Primary School, we believe that pupil voice is an integral part of improving what we do.

Therefore, we have created a Junior Leadership Team, with children from Year 6. We know that our children thrive when they are given new opportunities to develop their skills and abilities, we also believe that as our pupils move into Year 6 that they will benefit from opportunities to improve the education for all.

Job Description

  • Meeting with members of the Senior Leadership Team
  • Meeting with Governors
  • Carrying out Learning Walks
  • Supporting the SLT in ensuring the curriculum meets the needs of the children in the school
  • Ensuring children know their individual targets
  • Supporting children and adults to ‘Be The Best They Can Be’

Those children who wished to apply filled out an application form, sharing the skills and qualities they have, which make them the best person for the new role. Children were then shortlisted and invited to an interview with a member of the Senior Leadership Team and a school governor. It was superb to see how mature the children all were in answering the questions. It was an incredibly difficult decision to choose just a small selection of children. We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all who applied, as they should be so very proud of themselves.

What will the Junior Leadership Team do?

The Junior Leadership Team will meet staff and discuss issues that are important to the children's learning.  They have an agenda which they create, a member of the JLT takes the minutes and another chairs the meeting.

They JLT will meet with the governing body regularly to share their work with them .

They will also have a higher level of input into the monitoring of the impact of the changes and improvements across the school and their ideas and findings will provide input for the School Improvement Plan.
