Allocation of Places

Children with a Statement of Special Educational Needs or an Education Health and Care plan (EHCP) that names the School will be allocated a place before other applicants are considered. In this way, the number of places available will be reduced by the number of children with a statement that has named the School.

The allocation across the criteria for Kingfield Primary School for Academic year September 2020-21 and previous years was:

Looked After Children

Exceptional Arrangements

Children of a member of staff

Siblings at the time of admission

Children for whom the school is the nearest to them

16 (0.567km)

Any other applicant

Over subscription

If there is over subscription within any criteria, priority is given according to the distance from the child’s permanent home address to the school. Distance measured by a straight line from the address point of the child’s house, as set by Ordnance Survey to the nearest school gate for pupils to use.

Using Surrey County Council’s ‘Find a School’ application

Please note that the ‘find a school’ application available on Surrey County Council’s website is presented to parents as an indicator of what their home to school distance might be but it does not claim to present the home to school distance that will be used in the admissions process. ‘Find a school’ uses NLPG data to identify an address point within the child’s home address whereas the system used by the admissions team uses address base data. The difference is minimal.

In year admissions

As an academy Kingfield Primary School manages it’s own waiting lists for current years and works with Surrey to co-ordinate requests for the transfer to a new school. If there is a space available in the year group requested, you will, under normal circumstances be offered the place. If there is no place available, your child’s name will be added to our waiting list and we will contact you if a place becomes available.

Although we are an Academy Surrey County Council centrally manage our application forms.

Selection to the Nursery will be based on criteria in Surrey County Council's Nursery Admission Policy. The main intake is in September and is for children who are three years old by 31st August of that year. Offers of the nursery places will be sent out at the end of the Spring Term. If there are still spaces available, then we will offer places for a January intake and an April intake as well (but these are subject to availability).

Each child offered a place will receive a home visit from the Nursery Teacher and classroom assistant at the end of the summer term (notification of day & time will be sent during May/June). You and your child will then be invited for one or more visits to the nursery. Children are usually expected to be full-time straight away.

Nursery children wear a school sweatshirt, white polo neck shirt and blue track suit bottoms.
